The Venue & Massage Studio
I conduct most of my massages at my residence. I have a separate room in my house that is dedicated to my massage studio.
My house is located in the NW Houston area on the crossing of N. Eldridge Road and FM1960 in a very quiet, safe, and established neighborhood.
You are welcome to park your vehicle either in my driveway or on the street.
There will not be anyone in the house but you and me.
The bathroom and the shower will be available for all the clients to use before, during, and after the session(s).
Please contact me if you would like me to travel to your home as well. I typically travel within a 25-mile radius of my residence and my travel fee is $20.
What to Expect
My massage studio is your safe space!
I promote an environment of trust, confidentiality, and privacy. For every visit, you will be asked to complete the intake form where you will be prompted to specify any possible counter-indications to massage, treatment preferences, and goal(s) of your treatment. Your completed intake form will be discussed during our consultation to make sure that all of your preferences and treatment goals are accounted for and clarified. Your intake forms will be kept electronically and securely and will not be shared with any third parties. This means that your name, dates of your visits, treatments, medical conditions (if disclosed), treatment plans, treatment goals, etc. will not be shared with anyone and will be kept confidential.
Before your massage, you will be asked to remove your clothes to the level of your comfort. Draping will be provided for every session as required by Texas law. It is very important that you feel safe and comfortable during our session.
Any video, photo, audio recordings, etc. will not be allowed during the massage session due to privacy and HIPAA regulations unless for marketing purposes which will be specified and agreed upon by both parties in writing. You will be asked to turn off or silence your communication device(s) to eliminate distractions during our session.
Conversations during the massage will be reduced to a minimum to maximize the therapeutic effects of massage and promote your relaxation.
After your massage, you will be offered a glass of water and/or a cup of hot tea to rehydrate and dilute any toxins released from muscles into your bloodstream by soft tissue manipulations.
Please let me know if you need any assistance getting on/off the massage table. It is normal to feel slightly dizzy and/or light-headed after a massage session. Therefore, please, do not "jump" off the table after our session is over.
Payments & Refunds
Payments are taken after each session via cash, Zelle, Venmo, and CahApp.
Tips are not required and are not expected. Please schedule another session, instead.
All sales are final and refunds are not offered.
Techniques, Sanitation, Safety, & Allergies Advisory
Generally speaking, massage is defined as a mechanical manipulation of soft tissues. Although massage was recognized and proven by many leading health professionals as beneficial for overall human health, is not a substitute for doctors' visits. Therefore massage cannot be used instead of or as a sole treatment for serious medical conditions.
Modalities and My Scope of Practice
During our massage sessions, I am using classic Swedish massage techniques such as effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, skin-rolling, skin-spreading, friction, vibration, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, muscle energy, and stretching.
During the deep tissue massage slight discomfort, hyperemia (increased blood flow), and even light bruising may occur, and is considered normal.
During stretching, you may experience slight discomfort at the end of your normal range of motion (ROM) which is known as end-feel. It is normal and expected.
Please be aware that severe bruising will likely occur during and post Gua Sha treatment sessions. You will be asked to sign an acknowledgment form if you elect this treatment.
I am using the classic: subjective, objective, assessment, and planning (SOAP). Subjective analysis is to discuss any discomfort, pain, and other issues the customer may experience. "Objective" is what I am observing upon palpation. "Assessment" is for changes and improvements post-treatment. Finally, "planning" is where we discuss my suggestions to maintain the results and any further proposed treatments. I am keeping SOAP notes from each session and documenting our progress for any future sessions.
My massage techniques are non-invasive and cannot cause any health concerns or harm.
I do not work with pregnant women.
I do not work with minors (under 18 years of age).
I do not work with clients who have serious acute or chronic medical conditions unless they provide clearance from their treating medical providers.
Hot Stone Therapy & Chrystals
The hot stones are 130- 145 degrees Fahrenheit. I also use chrystals and natural minerals such as agate, shungite, celestine, amazonite, obsidian, larimar, citrine, jasper, etc. They are believed to help balance energy in the body and promote good health.
Cupping Therapy
I use only professional-grade glass cups for cupping therapy. Glass is a non-porous material compared to plastics which makes it more hygienic and easier to clean and sanitize. Glass cups are sterilized before and after each use.
Please be aware that mild bruising will likely occur during and post Cupping therapy sessions. You will be asked to sign an acknowledgment form if you elect this treatment.
Breasts Massage
If you request breast massage, you will be required to sign written consent before our massage session.
Alcohol, Drugs, & Medication Advisory
Please disclose your prescription medication during our consultation. It is important because massage can be counterindicated for certain medical conditions and when taking certain medications.
Please do not consume alcohol and/or take any recreational drugs before our massage session, because it can alter your pain tolerance and negatively impact your cardiovascular system.
Please do not take any blood thinning medications before your massage because they can cause severe bruising.
Please do not take any pain management and/or muscle relaxers because they can alter your pain tolerance.
I am not a medical doctor, and therefore, I cannot give any advice or prescribe any medications to you except by recommending natural and over-the-counter supplements.
Cleanliness & Sanitation
All the equipment, massage table, tools, stones, etc. are sanitized after every session. The sheets are laundered and sanitized after every session. The room itself is cleaned every day with disinfectants and the air is ionized to eradicate any possible air-borne pollutants. During the session, I will wear a mask, if requested, when you are prone (face down). I will always wear a mask when you are supine (face up).
I am fully vaccinated against SARS COVID-19 virus and its variants.
If you are sick or are experiencing any signs of sickness, we must reschedule the sessions until you are asymptomatic.
Personal Hygiene
Your hygiene is important for your safety. During our massage session, any potentially pathogenic microorganisms may be carried with lubricant to different parts of the body. Therefore, it is recommended to shower with hot water and soap before your massage session. As a precaution, I always use hand sanitizer every time before I massage your feet, your face, and your scalp. "Dead skin" particles may be dislodged and "rolled" from the upper levels of the epidermis during the massage;- it is considered normal and is not an indication of poor hygiene. I will refuse massage for safety reasons when/if there is a presence of foul body odor, uncovered open skin lesions, edema, and/or a presence of any bodily fluids or secretions on the surface of the skin before our massage session.
Massage Oils, Lotions, & Aromatherapy
I use only professional-grade, hypo-allergenic, and scent-free lotions and oils during the massage.
If you request treatment with essential oils and/or other scented products please be advised regarding the potential risks to your respiratory system and health. During aroma therapy, I use natural high-potency essential oils and essential oils blends which may cause various allergic reactions. Therefore, if you would like to have aroma therapy, you will be asked to sign an acknowledgment form.
Late Arrivals & Cancellations
Please let me know if you are running late. If you are late for more than 15 minutes without prior notice, your treatment session will be canceled or rescheduled.
I understand that emergencies happen, if it is possible, please give me at least 24-hour notice if you are unable to make it to your appointment or if you change your mind about our session. It is OK to change your mind.
Sexual Misconduct
Although not intended, it is not uncommon to feel sexual arousal during a massage and/or experience erection(s) which are all normal body reactions to parasympathetic nervous system stimulation and increased blood flow.
However, any deliberate and unwelcome sexual advances will result in the immediate termination of the massage session and/or reporting to the authorities.
Professional License & Liability Insurance
A copy of my license is always displayed in my massage studio as required by Texas law and TDLR. Any other documents are available by request.
